Hi!
I got a new job, so my blog has been neglected lately. 😞 I'm a little more active on my instagram which is @loop_h95. I will be hosting a US 1k giveaway soon on there! I received this palette in a Boxycharm. I was a bit unsure about the colors in here at first. You get four metallic shades and four matte shades.
It is suggested that you use the metallic shades with a wet brush. I did get some fallout with them, but I have created some beautiful looks in my opinion with this palette. The palette is inspired by the beauty and culture of Cuba. I hope to visit Cuba someday!
La Costa - Pearly champagne with pink highlights
El Malecon - True gold with olive undertones
Varadero - Deep royal blue/teal
Celia - Vivid turquoise with gold reflects
Coco-taxi - Yellow toned bright orange
Tropico - Intense burnt orange
Guantanamera - Deep Raspberry/burgundy
Cafecito - Deep Coffee
The matte shades do have some kickup, but they were easy to blend for the most part. I like putting tropico in my crease! For being their first palette, I'm pretty impressed with the quality. I think it could be improved a bit for their next launch.
The eyeshadows started to crease at the seven hour mark. My eyelids are pretty oily, so they might last longer on somebody with drier lids. I think $28 is the perfect price to pay for this palette considering the packaging and formula. I swatched each shadow twice as pictured above. I know some complained about it not having a mirror, but I like it that way. You can easily create a look with just this palette alone.
I have "La Costa" all over the lid in this picture. I applied "Varadero" to my outer corner and I have "Celia" in my crease. This is probably one of my all time favorite looks I've created ever.
