BeautyCon Box Winter 2016

Hello!

I had been eyeing the BeautyCon boxes for awhile now. I jumped on it during their black Friday special. I got my subscription for 30% off. I had also found out that Dulce Candy was the creator for their winter box. I've mentioned her before on my blog here and here. She is one of the first you tubers I discovered in 2011 and she quickly became one of my favorites!

Beautycon is a beauty and lifestyle subscription service. They ship every three months. The seasonal box is $29 plus shipping and the annual box is $99 plus shipping. You can sign up here.

L'oreal Paris Voluminous Feline Mascara

This gave my lashes some volume and length. It didn't make my lashes too crazy dramatic, but it was still nice. It layered on easily and didn't clump my lashes together. It claims to be suitable for sensitive eyes in case anyone was wondering.

L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Feline Mascara
L'oreal Voluminous Primer/Base

2016 was the year I discovered lash primers. You should really give them a try! Life changing, my friends. 🙏 It's lightweight and boosts your lashes for instant volume and length. I do tend to see a white coat of primer on my lashes sometimes, but it isn't too noticeable. I've mentioned the primer here.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

I sometimes prefer using micellar cleansing water instead of makeup remover wipes. The micelles picks up makeup, dirt, and oil you may have on your face. It's gentle on my skin and doesn't leave my skin feeling dried out.

Kate Somervile Exfolikate Intensive Exfoliating Treatment

I've already tried this product before and I didn't like it. I passed it along to my sister. The claim is "it's a dual action exfoliation method that seemingly smooths away years in as little as two minutes." You work the product around on your face and let it sit for a bit. I found my face to tingle and become uncomfortable from this. I washed it off and did notice my skin looked brighter and felt refreshed, but clearly something is up with ingredients in here.

Skinvolve Body Karate Cream

This is a daily lotion blended with caffeine and argan oil. It has a floral scent and it absorbed quickly into my skin. It has a rich texture and it was hydrating.

Colourpop Lippie Stix

I got this in the shade "BeautyCon Pink." I believe is it exclusively for this box only. It's a baby doll pink shade. It was comfortable to wear, but I found it to seep into my lip lines. It was also a little thick for my liking.

Rimmel London Lipstick

I got the shade "Call Me Crazy." It's a vibrant orange and actually quite moisturizing. It looked a bit dry in the tube, so I didn't expect that. It was comfortable on my lips and it has a fruity scent to it.

Biobelle #afterparty Sheet Mask

I like the name of this. Haha. The sheet mask fit perfectly on my face. The berry scent was potent at first, but then it subsided as I wore the mask. My face looked brighter after taking it off. Blueberries have antioxidants in them to protect the skin from free radicals.

Ali & Jay Los Angeles

This card was advertised as a gift card, but it's really just $50 off a order of $100 or more. They seem to only sell dresses that are a bit pricey. I have till June to use this code.

Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer

I have used this before and I like using it to contour. It really warms up my face and adds a more sculpted look to it. It's a medium brown with a satin finish. I love how it smells just like chocolate.

Artist Couture Diamond Glow Powder

This is one of those all bam in your face kind of highlighters. I got the shade "Illuminati." The powder is finely milled and housed in a jar with a sifter with a tape on it. I wish the sifter was able to open and close instead of the tape being there. The powder has a silver and champagne iridescence. It's super pigmented and it reflects off nicely in the light.

Luxie Highlighter Brush

I always enjoy receiving brushes in my subscription boxes. The brush is soft and picks up product easily. I usually use a shadow brush or a fan brush to highlight, so this was a bit different. I've had a Luxie brush head slip into the ferrule before, so I hope it doesn't happen again.

Too Faced bronzer, Diamond Glow Powder, BeautyCon Pink Lippie Stix, Rimmel Call Me Crazy

I'm on a no buy/low buy this year, so this was a nice treat to look forward to. I liked most of the products and I'm excited to see what will be in the Spring box.

    1. I liked the box a lot more than I thought I would. Yes, I highly recommend it. The micellar water gets some gunk out that a makeup wipe might miss sometimes.

  2. The box is nice especially since you got a 30% discount. I love Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water. I have it in waterproof and it really does remove everything. Since I've been introduced, I cannot go back to makeup wipes and even eye makeup remover.

    1. I agree! The cleansing water is really nice and much quicker at removing all the product on my face.
