Allure September 2016 Beauty Box

Hello!

This month's theme for the Allure Beauty Box was beauty multitaskers. The price is $15 a month, but there is a tax charge in some areas I believe. The samples are hand picked by Allure's editors every month. You can sign up here.

Upon opening this box, it just seemed a little underwhelming. I'll start off with the two tiny samples that were included.

Eau Thermale Avéne PhysioLift Eyes

This is a wrinkle smoothing eye treatment. I don't have any wrinkles around my eye area yet, but it's nice to be prepared once that starts happening. It has a form of retinol in it (great anti aging ingredient!) It absorbed quickly into my under eye area, but I didn't find it to be too hydrating.

Supergoop Shine On Lip Screen SPF 50

This sample was really tiny. I was surprisingly able to get over 10 uses from it. It's a clear sunscreen you can apply over your regular lip color. I actually just use this alone or under my lip color. It gave my lips a plumping effect upon applying it and I love that it has UV protection!

Pur~lisse Blue Lotus 4-in-1 Cleansing Milk

This cleanser is meant to remove dirt, oil, and makeup. This was a rich and creamy formula. That formula tends to break me out, but surprisingly this cleanser didn't. It has a sort of perfume scent to it. It claims to be for all skin types.

GrandePrimer

I never thought I needed a primer for my lashes, but this is life changing! It conditions your lashes. It's infused with nutrient rich mini fibers to boost your natural lashes. The formula is supposed to go on white and not be able to show through your lashes. I can still see some white after I've applied my mascara. It instantly adds volume and length to my lashes. They almost look fake! I'll definitely be repurchasing this gem.

Bulgari Omnia Coral

This is described as a fruity floral fragrance. The notes are bergamot, goji berries, and water lilies. It's a bit more than what you would get if you received a perfume sample from Ulta or Sephora. I typically like fruity scents, but this was a tad too mature for me.

Orly Breathable Treatment & Color Nail Polish

I received the shade "Nourishing Nude." This is a really sheer nude. I didn't like it at first because I had only applied one coat, which is what's recommend. I applied two coats the next time and I really like how it turned out! It's my nails but better polish! It's a creamy formula that adds shine to my nails! It lasted about 5-6 days with my Formula X polishes.

I really enjoyed the lip screen and eye lash primer. They are two items I plan to repurchase in the future. There was supposed to be other items in everyone's boxes, but nobody received them. Allure claims they were "bonus items." This company can be shady at times, and I'll be unsubscribing for the time being.

  1. I've never tried a lash prime before, but I'm glad to know they work well! I think the nail polish is pretty, I love a good nude polish. I'm glad there was some products in here that you liked! That's sad they said there were bonus items but no one got them! I wouldn't be happy about that either.

    1. Ooo yes! You need to try a lash primer. Yeah, a lot of people weren't happy about that.

  2. The Orly polish looks really pretty, and I like that it's a treatment, too!

  3. Awww sorry to hear the company is shady! I felt the same way with Sephora. I went and purchase a product. Also, I gave them the 50 beauty insider points and they never added the points. I called customer service and they told me I needed the number to get my points added. How am I supposed to when the employees take the card. They said to take pictures before I turn in the points. I was like wth! Anyways, I wanted to share. The perfume is worth it or at least it is to me!

    1. That's horrible! I'm surprised they didn't give you the 50 points after you talked to them.

  4. Personally...for $15 I would be /hella/ disappointed in this box tbh :/
I suppose the cleansing milk would be great for travel, and the tiny perfume bottle is cute, but the only thing I'd be interested from this box is the lash primer. I've never tried a lash primer, but I just wanna see how far my lashes would get :D

    1. I was upset at first, but I liked most of it. It would've been worth the $16 with the two other samples that had been promised. The lashes will go pretty far with a primer. I was impressed at my results! You should give one a try.
