Hello!
I've been on a matte eyeshadow kick lately. My boyfriend gifted me Tarte's Tartelette
Palette for Christmas. It features 12 matte eye shadows, and a step by step look guide. It retails for $44.00.
The outside of the palette is purple with Tartelette in gold. The palette is very sleek and travel friendly. It features a good sized mirror inside. The look guide can take you from daytime to playtime.
Each row of colors compliment each other well. Top row leans toward warm colors, middle is pink/purple colors, and last row is more cool tone colors. The shadows are very soft and creamy to the touch. Tarte is easily becoming one of my favorite cosmetic brands.
You get a nice variety of natural to dark eye shadows . I think this palette is really appropriate for all ages.
Free Spirit- Cream color & nice for inner corner.
Force of Nature- Nude color & lovely for all over the lid!
Dreamer- Warm Brown
Multi-Tasker- Chocolate
Force of Nature is one of my favorites from this palette. Dreamer & Multi-Tasker can really deepen up the outer v.
Caregiver- Pale Pink. I didn't show this shadow much love. It's best used as brow bone or inner corner color.
Natural Beauty- Mauve
Best Friend- Mulberry
Bombshell- Dark Plum
Natural Beauty is another favorite of mine. I love it for all over the lid. I love adding Best Friend & Bombshell in the crease.
Super Mom- Ivory
Wanderer- Light Brown. I use this in the crease as my transition color.
Power Player- Taupe.
Fashionista- Black. Very pigmented!
I mostly use Super Mom as a highlight. Power Player was the dud of the palette. It's hard to get the color to show up on my lids. I had to keep packing it on.
This palette is great overall. You need to do some blending with these shadows. I find that you really need to blend matte shadows. The staying power is definitely there. These hold for about six to seven hours with a primer.
Eye Look
- I applied "Free Spirit" in the inner corner
- Applied "Force of Nature" over my lid
- Applied "Wanderer" in my crease
- Applied "Multi- Tasker" in outer V area
- Used Jesse's Girl Liquid Eyeliner in "Black"
- Applied Tarte's Lights, Camera, Lashes 4 in 1 mascara

I was just reading that some products are available on certain websites. I hope you have access to them soon.
Deletenow that's what I call a great boyfriend ;)) I have the matte palette they came out with last year and I adored it! I wasn't immediately drawn to this years palette, but it's growing on me! Might have to go check it out!
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks! I'll let him know. (: I remember reading your post on it! I had been eying that one last year. I love how it had a blush in it.
DeleteOoh, great palette (and as Maeve said, a great boyfriend)! Tarte makes some amazing matte shades and I love the look you created with them :)

Yes they do! Such nice shades.
DeleteAw, thank you! I always admire your makeup looks! (:
I don't know why, but I'm always thrown off when people say they have boyfriends. Like, 'YOU HAVE FRIENDS??? YOU HAVE A BOYFRIEND??? YOU HAVE PARENTS?? kinda thing)
ReplyDeleteOuu, seriously loving the shades in this palette! The shade names are throwing me off though.
Lol!! I'm always surprised at that too. Yes, the names are a little odd. Super Mom?
DeleteThese shades look gorgeous! So pigmented and smooth, especially for a matte palette! xx

Definitely! I'm always impressed with Tarte's formulas.
DeleteI'm planning on getting new palettes for my birthday and this one is definitely on my list! The colors look beautiful, but I've heard mixed reviews about it. They're colors I've been really into lately though and so I'm just going to get it anyway (:

Great palette choice!
Deletei hope one day you can teach me how to create ala cleopatra eyeliner look! no matter how hard i try i cant make my eyeliner look as nice as yours lol. i think this kind of shiny packaging is starting a new trend. ive seen it lately on c.tilbury, stila, and kiko... which is nice but bad for me cause i want to hold of buying makeup for awhile. must practice more self control.
ReplyDeleteLol I hope one day I can! :) Haha I agree. The holiday collections are killing me right now.
Deletei have this but still haven't opened it, which is embarrassing. i can pass on the naming of the shades. i wish they were just regular names like 'brown' lol 'cause its a little bit easier to remember....i should crack this open...

A Beautiful Zen
I found out some Youtubers had helped name the shades. I think it had to do with empowering women.
