December Haul

Hello lovelies! :)

I just got done spending some time with my family making tamales and decided to play around with some makeup for New Years Eve. I didn't like how it turned out, so I'll post it tomorrow. Needed more glitter. :3

I'll be sharing what I bought through out December, it's not much. College and Christmas left me quite poor.

I purchased two items from Ulta and two from Marshalls.
  • Smashbox Blush Rush in "Heart Break" ($24)
  • Neutrogena Alcohol Free Toner ($7.99)
  • Essie nail polish in "Miss Fancy Pants" ($4.99)
  •  5th Ave. Fashionista Wipes ($3.99)
I'm loving this Essie polish! It's a greyish nude color. I got nice coverage in 2 coats and with a top coat it chipped after 3 or 4 days. That's a long time for me. Some polishes chip the next day on me. It was $4.99 at Marshalls compared to $8 at Target.

I have a slight blush obsession and was impressed with the pigmentation from the Smashbox blushes I had swatched at Ulta. I don't think these are talked about much! They should be! I like this blush. Nice pigmentation and it wore about 5 hours. "Heart Break" is a rosey plum with shimmer. It has some shimmer, but it's subtle.

I love how it has a slide out mirror. Perfect for on the go!

I picked up these since I had ran out of makeup wipes. They include 60 wipes that have blueberry extract. I loved the smell of these! 60 wipes for $3.99 isn't bad. I found them at Marshalls and will most likely be purchasing.

I forgot to take a picture of the toner, but I like that it's alcohol free. It doesn't dry out my skin and seems to be stopping future blemishes. I was still oily through out the day, so I may go back to my old toner. I just wanted to try a different brand.  It may work great on other people though! :)

  1. Oooooh, you know how to make tamales????? They appear to be quite time consuming, but I adore them! You should share the recipe!!!

I think Smashbox is very underrated!

    1. lol!! My mom is the one who makes the filling and masa. I just stand in the assembly line and fill the leaves. If you'd like the recipe, I can ask! :)
I hope people start to mention them more. They are mostly known for their face primer I noticed.

  3. Ohohohoho, that shade of blush is definitely going on my "to-buy" list. I've got a few other Smashbox blushes in my 'loved' list on Sephora, but yeah, definitely agreed that they don't really get talk about on the blogosphere!
