Neutrogena Light Therapy Acne Mask

Hello.

I've been on the longest mission to try and perfect my skincare routine. I started to break out at the age of 10 and now at 21, I tend to have an occasional breakout. Pinch Me sent me this product for testing purposes. You can read more down below to see if the Neutrogena Light Therapy Acne Mask has worked for me!

The box contains one light therapy mask and one activator with 30 daily acne treatments. The mask has a value of 34.99 (39.99 at Ulta) and a refill activator will cost you $14.99 (16.99 at Ulta for some reason.) The first prices were pulled from Neutrogena's site.

Light therapy has been used by dermatologists to treat patients with acne. The blue light kills acne causing bacteria, while the red light reduces inflammation. I simply connect the mask to the activator and I press down on the activator button for a couple of seconds. The mask can be pretty bright, but it has some googles inside to help shield your eyes. 😎 It can take some getting used to. The session lasts 10 minutes, so just relax and jam to some music! You'll want to use this mask after cleansing your skin.

I call it the "Star Wars" mask
The mask will turn off once the 10 minutes are up and the number of sessions left will show on your activator screen. My skin instantly feels smooth after using this mask. You must try to use this mask everyday to see results. I'll admit, I skipped a few sessions. My life can get busy sometimes and I can't put it on every night.

I didn't see much change at first, but have noticed my skin isn't breaking out so bad. It helps minimize any inflamed blemishes I may have at the moment.  I do use a variety of other products in my skincare routine as well to help avoid breakouts. You also have to wipe your mask clean with a cloth or napkin to avoid getting it dirty. You don't want a dirty mask sitting on your face!

The only thing that bugs me about this product is having to buy a new activator every time. If Neutrogena happens to read my blog post, I hope they add some sort of charger to this mask in the future. I'd definitely pay $50-$60 for this mask if it was rechargeable.

This is a UV free treatment and 100% chemical free. This mask is meant for mild and moderate acne only.

  1. I've never used anything like this before! I like he concept of it, but I totally agree that it should be rechargeable!

  2. It's crazy how it's not rechargeable! I wouldn't mind paying a bit more for it to be rechargeable, because this sounds so nice! I like the concept of this. It's crazy how it costs so much for the activators.

  4. Interesting. I didn't know they used light therapy for acne. My acne became manageable by the time I turned 18. I also used Desert Essence Tea Tree Oil face wash with a scrubby face sponge. I have a post on my blog about it if you're curious.

  5. Oh, this is such an interesting device and I didn't know that this device actually exist. It's really cool though and at least you noticed that you weren't breaking out as much anymore.

    1. As long as it works, I guess I don't mind buying the extra uses.
