Sephora & Ulta Haul Dec. 2015

Hello!

Lately, I've been buying a lot of makeup and skincare. I really need to stop. I'm putting myself on a No-Buy Challenge starting the end of the month. I hope that lasts, but doubt it. I used my $20 off Sephora code and 20% off at Ulta this past weekend.

It Brushes Your Superheros Travel Brush Set

I've heard good things about It Cosmetics's brushes. I was in need of a powder brush and some eye brushes. They seem soft to the touch. I didn't have any shedding when washing them this past weekend, which is nice. The set retails for $50. It includes a powder brush, foundation brush, concealer brush, crease brush, shadow brush, and a liner/brow brush. (Not pictured) This seems like a good deal, since their brushes alone can be a little pricey.

Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder

I usually use a setting spray, but decided it was time to dip into powders. Plus, I heard I can do some baking with this. Baking is leaving translucent powder on your face for 10 minutes. The heat from your face will help set your foundation and concealer. My face is on the oily side, so this will also help my makeup last. I purchased the travel size for $22 at Sephora.

Clinique Acne Solutions Clarifying Lotion & Derma-e Overnight Peel

I was in the Clinique section, and was looking for a toner. The product consultant recommend me this one. So far my skin hasn't dried out from it. It does leave my skin with a tight feeling after using, which I like. It retails for $16 at Ulta.

My face is definitely in need of some resurfacing. I picked up Derma-E's Overnight Peel for $15.00 at Ulta. It's suppose to remove dead skin cells and give you younger looking skin. I have some scars I want to get rid of, or just simply lighten. Hopefully this does the job.

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick & Sephora Lip Liner To Go

Liquid lipsticks are pretty much my best friend. I want to try them all! I've heard that Stila can make a pretty good liquid lipstick! I picked up the shade "Dolce", which is a nude cinnamon sheen. I'm excited to wear it this weekend. It retails for $24.

I only needed $4 to make the purchase worth $50 at Sephora. (I think we've all been in that boat.) I decided to add a lip liner.  The shade is called "Pale Beige." The formula seems creamy to the touch. The lip liner retails for $6.00.

  2. I didn't do any no-buy this year, but I did the year before, I was pretty proud of myself. I did good. LOL! I might have to give it a go next year. You picked up some great things. I still have to use my 20% off coupon from Ulta. I might have to do some shopping today before it expires! xo - Lily

  3. Every time I try to do a no-buy I fail miserably lol!! I've been pretty good, other than the Sephora sale! I've heard good things about it cosmetic brushes too! The set seems like a good deal, let me know if you like them! I've also heard great things about the Laura mercier powder, and I'm just now getting into those loose translucent powders too. Those lip colors are gorgoues!

    1. Oh no! I'm sure you can do it. So far, I'm liking them! I don't care too much for the foundation one. The powder and eye brushes are nice.

  6. I just bought a brush set from It Cosmetics for my mother in law for christmas. The brushes are soo soft considering they are synthetic. I have to try this baking thing as well. Just figured out what it was after hearing about it for so long.

    1. I bet she'll really enjoy them! Yes, I figured I'd be better at baking then strobing.

  7. Haha, I'm the opposite--not really a fan of setting sprays, so powders are all I use. Have heard plenty of good things about Laura Mercier's powder, though I'm not savvy enough to 'bake' my face! Good luck on the "no-buy" challenge--though it should be easy after Christmas since most people are broke AF after the holidays ;)

    1. What powders do you use? :)
Lol I thought it would be easy, but I'm dying already. I want some new makeup. Then again I really need to use what I already have.
